Ken Davis, M.D.

Presentation: "Dissemination of Clinical Outcome Data to Leadership: Who, What, Where"
Dr. Davis is Chief Medical Officer of North Mississippi Health Services (NMHS) in Tupelo, Mississippi. NMHS consists of five hospitals with over 1,000 acute beds, three nursing homes, six dialysis centers and 40 primary care clinics in a 70 mile radius. Dr. Davis is board certified in Internal Medicine and fellowship trained in Geriatric Medicine. He received his M.D. from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He received a Masters in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health and Harvard Business School. He was a Research Fellow in Geriatric Medicine and an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Davis has a special interest in and expertise in the efficient utilization of clinical resources to optimize clinical outcomes. He has assisted in the development of Clinical Efficiency Programs in more than 30 hospitals and health systems.

Jan Englert, R.N.

Presentation: "Dissemination of Clinical Outcome Data to Leadership: Who, What, Where"
Jan is the Manager of the Clinical Outcomes program at North Mississippi Health Services in Tupelo, Mississippi. In this role, Jan leads a team of seven outcomes managers and two data analysts. This team coordinates population-specific clinical improvement projects and leads the development of outcomes profiles for medical and surgical practices. Jan and her team are responsible for improving clinical efficiency and providing clinical practice analyses and physician profiles to over 300 physicians. These clinical improvement activities have resulted in numerous national publications and presentations, including a June 2001 article in JCAHO "Journal on Quality Improvement". Prior to 1995, Jan worked as a nurse for 20 years, caring for people in various settings, from home to critical care in Missouri and Mississippi.

Brigid is the Director of Quality, Risk, and Case Management
at Prince George's Hospital Center, a 275-bed facility, located in
Cheverly, MD. She obtained her Master's Degree in General Administration
in 1995 from the University of Maryland. Prior to her role at Prince
George's, Brigid worked at Washington Adventist Hospital, first in the
Emergency Department, and then as Director of Quality Assessment. She is a
member of Sigma Theta Tau, and is certified as a Healthcare Quality Professional. |

Barbara Doyle, M.S.N., C.R.N.P.

Presentation: "Targeting Populations At-Risk for Nosocomial Urinary Tract Infection"
Barbara Doyle is Product Manager for the Care Management System product application at CareScience. She brings over twenty years of clinical experience to her role in product management at CareScience. Prior to coming to CareScience, Ms. Doyle worked as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, an 800-bed tertiary care institution located in Philadelphia. After obtaining her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania school of Nursing, she began work in Oncology, where she served on various quality improvement committees and ultimately moved into the role of Assistant Nurse Manager at which time she was distinguished with an award of nursing excellence. She then worked in various community hospitals while waiting to serve two years in Africa as a member of the United States Peace Corps. After returning from Africa she completed her graduate work in Oncology Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a place in the Sigma Theta Tau honor society and earned their leadership award at commencement exercises. She then helped to implement both the Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplantation Program as well as the Inpatient Nurse Practitioner Service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Doyle has written several articles on various clinical and professional topics, and has most recently presented at the National Association of Healthcare Quality conference. She continues to lecture to both undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.

Helene brings to her role over 25 years of experience as a healthcare professional including emergency room nursing, administration, quality improvement, case management, geriatrics and regulatory compliance. She is experienced in the design and implementation of cost effective quality patient care in both acute and long-term care. As an Account Manager one of her responsibilities is the education of key users, physicians and other healthcare professionals on the use and application of Care Management Systems, which includes training and support for staff using the Care Management System Query tool.

Tim directs all sales and business development efforts for CareScience's Care Data Exchange. He has over 17 years of experience in information technology, and has worked specifically in healthcare IT for 14 years. Prior to coming to CareScience, Tim was Executive Vice President of Sales for Cybear, Inc., where he led key efforts to evolve their physician portal and ASP partner relastionships. Before Cybear, Tim was Vice President of Client Services and Business Strategy for Kinetra, LCC (and EDS-IMS Medacom Company). At Kinetra, Tim lead the advancement of new Internet deployment and migration strategy. Prior to Kinetra, Tim worked as Director of Sales for Ameritech Health Connections (AMC) where he worked on advancing AMC's products in the Health Information Network (HIN) marketplace. Tim received a B.S. in computer information systems at Trevecca University in Nashville, TN.
