• Identify specific areas where clinical improvements are possible
• Prioritize patient safety and quality improvement initiatives that will deliver the most impact — both clinical and financial
• Gather and analyze patient data, using our risk–adjusted methodologies, to target specific clinical areas and processes for improvement, and secure physician adoption
• Support the creation and implementation of evidence–based treatment protocols which improve clinical processes
• Collect and submit data to a variety of regulatory organizations including CMS, JCAHO, The Leapfrog Group, IHI and state departments of health
• Educate management and staff on the differences and overlaps of various public reporting measures
• Establish a reporting system which allows executives to be informed of quality and safety measure performance and/or track the impact of quality improvement initiatives
• Assist leadership with change management — help to develop an organization-wide culture that embraces the use of patient data to continually improve patient outcomes
• Assist with EMR, EHR, or CPOE implementations to optimally configure systems for quality initiatives and accurate measurement of clinical and financial outcomes
